Sven B. Schreiber This is how I like it! Yesterday I purchased "Drive", and today, the subsequent album by "The Arches" already arrives! I've always wondered what an "Arches" soundtrack would sound like... well, now I know, and I'm quite enthralled by it! My 14th purchase from this unique band... Favorite track: Sunday Whatever.

The Arches wish Peace and Love to everyone around the world.

In Gopher Prairie, MN on Memorial Day weekend, people gather in Carol Kennicott park for the annual Sinclair Lewis/Memorial Day tribute concert which raises funds for the local library and veterans' home. Admiral Leonard is conducting an assembly of horns and strings at the octagon shaped white painted pavilion. The sun is out and the breeze is blowing as the town’s people gather around. The flowers are in full color bloom as the children run around the pavilion singing playful songs in the shade of the trees. As we hear the tap of the conductor stick on the music stand, Admiral Leonard’s Royal Orchestra cues up...Life Goes On.

Memorial Day History
Three years after the U.S. Civil War ended, on May 5, 1868, Decoration Day (Now Memorial Day) was established as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. The last Monday in May was eventually chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country.
The first large observance was held at Arlington National Cemetery, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. After speeches, children from the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphan Home made their way through the cemetery, strewing flowers on both Union and Confederate graves, reciting prayers and singing hymns.
